NIR (Near Infrared Spectroscopy) utilizes the characteristics of near infrared light, which penetrates produce, diffuses within fruits and vegetables, and is readily absorbed by the components contained in the produce. At Shibuya Seiki, we apply this NIR technology to non-contact and non-destructive measurements of various attributes such as Brix (sugar content) and internal defects (such as browning) in fruits and vegetables. By quickly and accurately assessing internal quality that is not visible, we control quality variations effectively.

AI

At Shibuya Seiki, we have developed our own AI engine to achieve high-precision and ultra-fast processing. This enables to detect defects such as fine scratches and color variations that cannot be detected with conventional image processing. Our system supports multiple AI models simultaneously and uses multispectral imaging with various wavelengths to capture distinctive images, providing flexible solutions for on-site needs.
Our technology supports various produce including mandarins, potatoes, persimmons, and tomatoes. By using up to six cameras, it can perform advanced sorting to detect insect damage, diseases, and decay, significantly reducing the need for manual sorting. *Awarded the 2023 Development Award by the Society of Agricultural and Food Engineers

Conveyor

PK Conveyor

Achieving high-speed transport of up to 60 meters per minute, our system gently sorts each item one by one using PK (Piano Keys) that mimic the action of human fingers. It is designed to handle delicate fruits like mandarins without the risk of damage, ensuring safe use. In addition to mandarins, it is used for potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, and persimmons.

In addition to the one mentioned above, we offer a variety of
conveyor types tailored to meet the specific needs of our customers.
